YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Red Flag warning is in effect along and west of the Colorado Kansas border with the exception of Greeley county. Outdoor burning is highly discouraged.  A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible from 5 PM MDT (6 PM CDT) through 10 PM MDT (11 PM CDT). The primary hazards are dry lightning which may spark wildfires, wind gusts up to 65 mph which may produce some blowing dust, and large hail.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  Strong to severe storms are possible again on Thursday afternoon and evening, mainly east of a McCook, Nebraska to Gove, Kansas line. The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds.  A Fire Weather Watch for critical fire weather conditions is in effect from the late morning through the early evening hours Thursday along and west of a line from Hitchcock county Nebraska to Logan county Kansas.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not anticipated. We would appreciate any reports of severe weather and blowing dust. Report any fires to local dispatch.
