This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... A few thunderstorms are expected to develop after 2 PM MDT mainly along and south of Interstate 70. Initially any thunderstorm that forms will produce little rainfall along with threat of cloud to ground lightning, possibly sparking fires. Through the afternoon and early evening there is a threat for a few severe thunderstorms with strong wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and half dollar sized hail the primary threats. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... Fire danger will remain elevated through Saturday, mainly south of a Flagler to Russell Springs line as dry conditions persist. A strong low pressure system will bring strong northerly winds to the area late Friday afternoon and on Saturday which may push fire danger to critical levels. Thunderstorms will be possible early Thursday evening through Friday.
