YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  No hazardous weather is expected at this time.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH MONDAY...  Fire danger is expected to reach critical levels along and east of a Kit Carson to Benkelman line on Tuesday as southerly winds of 20 to 30 mph spread across the area. A fire weather watch is in effect for this area on Tuesday.  Fire danger will remain elevated on Wednesday as temperatures climb into the 80s and winds increase to around 15 mph in some areas. A thunderstorm is possible east of a McCook to Leoti line on Wednesday afternoon, but severe thunderstorms are not anticipated.  Unsettled weather will continue on Friday as a strong storm system forces a cold front across the region Friday evening. Ahead of the front fire danger will once again will be high in some locations. As the front passes strong northwesterly winds may bring a brief period of blowing dust in the evening along with a few strong thunderstorms.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
