WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT SUNDAY FROM NOON THROUGH 8 PM MDT FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR MOST OF THE PLAINS OF NORTHEAST COLORADO, GENERALLY AROUND AND EAST OF I-25...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Snow showers will increase across the northern mountains by the afternoon with continued snow expected overnight. The heaviest snowfall will be north of the Interstate 70 corridor where 2 to 6 inches expected by late tomorrow. In addition, strong westerly winds will also develop later tonight with gusts up to 65 mph over the high mountain passes and exposed east slopes.  Across the plains, expect increasing southeast winds up to 40 mph this afternoon. Could see a few light rain showers towards evening over the urban corridor and locations towards the Wyoming border. There will be elevated fire conditons with the winds but humidity levels will be higher today.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday  Breezy to windy conditions are expected across much of the forecast area on Sunday with scattered light snow showers across the high country. Wind gusts between 30 to 50 mph on the plains combined with low relative humidity will lead to near-critical fire weather conditions on the plains. Therefore a Fire Weather Watch has been issued.  Dry and breezy weather along with above normal temperatures will continue Monday through Friday with elevated to critical fire weather conditions expected across the plains, Palmer Divide and portions of the foothills. At this time, the greatest fire weather concern appears to be on Tuesday and Friday due to very warm temperatures and low relative humidity.  Cooler unsettled weather is expected late Friday and Saturday, with precipitation mainly confined to the high country.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
